Mac Nuts

Donna K.  brought these back from Saipan but I  won't even eat them since I am limiting my sugar intake.   Tyler likes them.  It was sweet of her to think of me, though.
Shanny wanted me to buy these ridiculous cookies.  We used to buy them in rolls when my kids were little. Now people ( me included) can't be bothered to slice them so they are sold "pre-sliced."   I didn't eat any of these either.

Norm gave me a Calla Lily for Valentine's day.   It is  still blooming and now some of the blooms are maroon.  I love it!I finally got a new camera card for my camera so I don't have to hunt through 1000's of photos to find stuff.  It is funny that I always start out deleting so many pictures to keep it "clean" but end up with so many photos I never even print out.
There is freezing drizzle today and I am debating the safety of a run.   Yesterday was snowshoeing, and that was quite a difficult work-out.   I don't use my snowshoes enough.

I can detect  a difference in the sounds of birds outside.  There are more trills and singing than even last week. Spring is coming!!!

Shanny turns 16

Here's  a  mind blowing thing, my youngest daughter Shanny just turned 16!  She had some friends over for a sleepover Friday night.  Then on Saturday night, we took her to a little Korean restaurant in Boulder.  Very tasty!
I made her a Boston Cream Pie for her birthday, it was pretty complicated but I think it turned out alright.
We watched Breaking Dawn again Sunday and laughed at the Werewolves and Vampires. It was a weekend of birthday celebration.

So I Won't Forget....

My kids are growing up so fast.  It is amazing that this girl will be 16 this week.  And then there are my other two girls in college going through their own life experiences.  I look back at photos from their grade school days and it I thought those school years would last forever.
Even looking back at photos on this blog, which I have been posting on for four years, I see amazing changes in our family.

And I keep posting, so I will remember those days when my kids were kids.

The Morning Bird Show

Since I moved the bird feeders to the deck, we can look out from our dining room table and see all the action.  I am planning on making this set-up better for next winter.  It is just a bit ghetto, but the birds don't care.
I am not going to post any more on the gardening ( Dung Hoe ) blog so most posts on this Green Elevation blog will be "anything goes."

Damnage and Damage

This is my greenhouse after 80 mile per hour winds.   It is ten years old now so I guess it was destined to happen sometime.  We will be fixing it in the springtime.
